A LIFE IN TANGO

A LIFE IN TANGO

ABOUT ME

If you’ve arrived on this page, it’s because—just like me—you feel the transformative power of this dance.

Tango invites us to discover ourselves, to grow, to understand our emotions, and from that honesty, to connect with others.

My name is Fernanda Ghi, and I want to share what I’ve learned throughout these years in which dancing became my way of living: inhabiting my body, organizing my emotions, surrendering to music, and facing my own challenges.

I chose tango as my language of expression, growth, and art.

And if you’re here, you already know that tango is alive—it evolves, transforms, and grows within and beyond us.

MY PRESENT

I am currently based in Boston, USA, where I teach regularly and travel internationally to perform, give workshops, and lead artistic residencies.

My approach integrates technique, body awareness, musicality, identity, roles, and emotional clarity.

I am the creator of the Open Role Tango Festival USA (2025), the first event in the country dedicated to celebrating tango roles beyond gender.

In 2019 I founded the Fernanda Ghi Dance Company, a multidisciplinary space where tango dialogues with theater, opera, contemporary dance, and visual arts.

TEACHING APPROACH

I teach both roles —Proposes and Responds— because true connection comes from understanding the complete dialogue.

For me, partnership responds to movement, not to gender.

MY PHILOSOPHY

Tango is more than a dance: it is presence, empathy, and self-knowledge.

Each embrace is a silent conversation where two worlds meet.

This is the experience I wish to share with you.
